Lottie- Hair Dye used: Special Effect Purple Smoke

I've been dying my hair bright colours for years now and I think it was probably pink before I applied the purple.
I usually bleach my hair every couple of months, dye it and then wait for the colour to fade before applying the next one.
This was taken after about a weeks worth of washes.

Jesus- Hair Dye used: Mani Panic Ultraviolet

Naturally, my hair is dark brown. I used Manic Panic Ultra Violet after bleaching my hair (It was dark blonde before). It's been a week since I dyed it.

Pixel Neko- Hair Dye used: Special Effects Wildflower

My natural hair is black, I beached it until it was almost white. The photo is wild flower from special effects, the picture was taken just after dyed it.

Kimberly Zombie- Hair dye used: Special Effects Atomic Pink, Deep Purple

I used Special Effects Atomic Pink, Special Effects Deep Purple and permanent black hair dye. The black is on the top, for the middle section its Atomic Pink and the bottom layer is Deep Purple. My hair is originally black. So I had to bleach it using Vol 30 developer and left it in my hair for half hour. Washed it off, sectioned my hair and began to dye my hair. I leave the dye on for about 1 hour. For the first two pictures, They were the day after I dyed my hair, and the third isfrom 3 weeks without retouching. The 5th picture is me with black light! As you can see it glows like the bottle says so!

Katie- Hair Dye used: Special Effects Fishbowl, Pimpin Purple, Cupcake Pink

i used special effects hair dye, fishbowl, cupcake pink on the top, and pimpin' purple on the bottom. my hair is origonally dark brown, i bleached it on the top and bottom. this picture wa taken a few hours after being dyed.

Carissa- Hair Dye used: Punky Plum

I just pulled hair that wasn't going to be dyed away from the "to-dye" pieces and did my color and had it in for about an hour.
You can kind of see my natural color, it's dirty blonde.
Definitely don't bleach my hair, it's fine texture and very finnicky.
Dyed it the day this picture was taken.

Laura- Hair Dye used: Manic Panic Cotton Candy Pink, Ultraviolet

Im laura and i just used manic panic hair dye in the colors of cotton candy pink and ultra violet..i LOVE the results, i wanted to do something different for my 26th bday(= my hair was orignally dark brown, i bleached just the top section til yellow blonde..then i section off the middle to dye cotton candy pink and the 2 side areas ultra violet and left it in overnite..thanx

Stacy- Hair Dye used: Special Effects

Pic#1 and 2
Hair color: Atomic Pink, Nuclear Red, Napalm Orange, Bright as @$* yellow, Iguana Green, Electric Blue, Deep purple and Wildflower mixed. (All Special Effects)
Application: Started with top pink part first, sectioning it all the way around from my temples, one side slightly slanted longer. After pink was finished I applied
the rainbow colors in order in vertical sections. Washing out the color was the hardest part because the pink, the darker colors and the lighter colors
had to be washed all seperately to avoid the colors bleeding into one another.
Started with: Had bleached hair to start with (20vol).
How long since colored: freshly dyed.

Pic#3
Hair color: Deep purple and Wildflower mixed, Diluted Cupcake pink(all Special Effects), Lagoon blue and turquiose mixed (both Directions).
Application: Started with upside down triangles all over my head and alternated colors. Washed the pink seperately from the purple and blue.
Started with: Had Bleached hair to start with (30vol).
How long since colored: a week.

Jenna- Hair Dye used: Special Effects Pimpin Purple, Fishbowl

My hair was dark brown with some blonde on top , we bleached it as much as we could with 3 BOXES but sadly my hair is VERY thick and it was still not blonde in many spots , we put purple on top 2/3 of the way down and the tips should be aqua but they didnt turn out I plan to re do my hair at some point using more bleach but I love the purple part This is the day after it was done . I will use this brand again , I blame my hair not it lol

From Becky's Beauty Hut, Emporium, PA. Hair Dye used: Special Effects Virgin Rose

Cooper- Hair Dye used: Special Effects Joyride

I used special effects' Joyride purple hair dye, and I noticed you didn't have very many pictures of this color, which is a shame because if bleached right, it's a very pretty purple.
I bleached my hair first, but I don't think I did the ends of my hair very well, which is why they aren't purple, i also didn't tone my hair and it turned orangey. My hair is naturally a very dark brown (parts in the pic that aren't purple or orangey). These pictures are a day after dying (after 2 washes). I plan to re-bleach in a few weeks and put either more purple or maybe some pink or blue in my hair.

Kaitlyn- Hair Dye used: Manic Panic Fuschia Shock

I used the Manic Panic , Fuschia Shock Cream . I had never died my hair before this & it was naturally black . My stylist used the weave technic on the highlights . Of course with my hair being all black I had to bleach it , otherwise the color wouldn't take . I have to get my hair touched up every 2 weeks just to keep the color . But these photos were taken the day I had got it done .

Mya- Hair Dye used: Special Effects Pimpin Purple, Cherry Bomb

I mixed 2/3 Pimpin Purple 1/3 Cherry Bomb; Applied to top layer of panel, and bangs.I mixed 1/2 of each; Applied to bottom layer of panel. My hair was Atomic Pink when I dyed it.I had bleached my hair and dyed it pink. When that faded and I used Special Effects.First pic is right after dying. Secondis most recent; Three weeks and it's beautiful! It's different colors in different lighting. The pictures do not give it justice.

Leanna- Hair Dye used: Special Effects Pimpin Purple

Some of my bangs were a light purple and some were platinum. I didnt bleach it before but it came out beautiful. It's been almost 8 weeks since I died it and now its a light purple with some of my natural brown. The first picture is right when I got it done and the second one is a few weeks after.

Tabbit- Hair Dye used: Special Effects Purple Smoke. Nuclear Red, Blue Haired Freak, Sonic Green

My natural hair color is a dirty blonde, and I bleach my hair almost white every time I dye it. I have been dying my hair for 13 years, I dont even know what my natural color is anymore.

1, Purple smoke, by special effects, a month after dying.

Marisa- Hair dye used: Special Effects Pimpin Purple

The colour I used from Special Effects is Pimpin Purple. My original colour was half dark brown and Half Blonde. I had to belach the brown side of my hair to get the pimpin purple in. Its been about 2 weeks since I dyed it.

Miss Lovely- Hair Dye used: Special Effects Atomic Pink, Deep Purple, Wildflower

Pic 1-here is Deep Purple on the top layer with Wildflower on the bottom layer of hair, this was the day after dying it over bleached hair.
Pic 2-This is the same Deep Purple and Wildflower layers, with bleached sections (that turned pink from bleaching the purple) 4 months after dying it, only touching up the roots by bleaching and putting Deep Purple as needed.
Pic 3-This was a day after I put the atomic pink over the bleached sections, not having touched up the Purples except the roots in 5 months
Pic 4-This was the atomic pink after a month, 6 months on the purple.
Pic 5-I then bleached my roots to do a touch up and decided to mix the deep purple and the wildflower together and do it on all of my roots to pull it down and then applied the atomic pink to the ends (which had not been bleached with the roots) giving it a gradient effect. so the Atomic pink was covering the old atomic pink as well as the dark purple and wildflower sections. This picture is a week or so after I dyed it.

Teapot- Hair Dyes used: Special Effects Pimpin Purple, Burgundy Wine

I used Special Effects Pimpin' Purple and Burgundy Wine over bleached to blond hair. First I did lots of tiny strands in each color and then I did chunks the next time. I like the small bits better, but I'm not sold on the wine color. I'm used to purple I guess. It washes to a nice hot pink, but it runs like no other color I've had. The purple stays put really well and looks just as vibrant after each wash. Definitely sticking with Pimpin' for a while!
First pic is the next day with small streaks, the other pictures are with chunks of color. I apply the colors regularly to keep them vibrant, the washes don't look so hot. You can see how streaky the burgundy looks in the flash while the purple stays true in any light. I think if I were to do the burgundy wine again I'd do it by itself. Seems like a good stand alone color.

Cristie- Hair Dye used: Special Effects Deep Purple, mixed

I used the shade of Deep Purple by Special Effects. My hair naturally is dark brown. I colored the base withGarnier Nutrisse Permanent Hair Color - Light Intense Auburn R3. Then about 3 weeks later, I had the copper/ blond highlights done with the standard bleach. After the highlights were done, I used the Deep Purple on some of the highlights.

Ana- Hair Dye used: Special Effects Wildflower

I used special effects wildflower for this pictures. I bleached out individual sections of my hair first (from black to blonde/light brown) then applied the dye and left it in for about 20 mins. In that picture, i dyed it about 2 weeks earlier.

Becca- Hair Dye used: Purple Smoke

Fishbowl and Purple Smoke, all over bleached hair.

Kylee-Hair dye used: Special Effects Atomic Pink, Wallflower

Special Effects Hair Dye-Atomic Pink on end and Wild Flower on Roots.Colors were applied at the same time, left on for 2 hours.Over bleached hair close to a light yellow. Colors are brighter in person.I have dark brown hair.Hair in photo is freshly dye

Erin- Hair Dye used: Special EffectsDeep Purple

SFX Deep Purple over unbleached, dirty blonde hair.

Shiloh- Hair Dye used: Special Effects Deep Purple

T he first is my bangs with deep purple (special effects) immediately after dying over bleached hair. The second is after about a month, and you can see that's it's faded to a deep raspberry pink color. I particularly love deep purple because it's so long lasting, and you end up with a whole range of purples and pinks as it fades. I've actually never had it fade completely out, even when I bleach over it, it still comes out pale pink... Hope these are helpful for your gallery!

Angelica- Hair Dye used: Special Effects Blue Myhem, Punky Colour Plum

.i just have the blue mixed in with my natural red hair
What color was your hair before you started? red
Did you bleach your hair first? i bleached it with 40 developer
How long has it been since you dyed it? couple of weeks

Nicole- Hair dye used: Special Effects Blue Velvet, Joyride, Nuclear Red, Blood Red, Deep Purple, Manic Panic Electric Lizard

For the first 2 pictures, my hair was bleached almost platinum blonde. They are both really washed out (over a months period).
The 3rd to last picture, my bleached hair was a little bit more yellowish and they were all after the first wash.
1. Special Effects - Blue Velvet
2. Special Effects - Joyride

Nuclear Red, Napalm orange, Bright as F@#$ Yellow, Limelight, Blue Haired freak, Deep Purple, and Cupcake pink. they were not mixed, just applied to areas of my hair. Started with very light blonde. Bleached hair first. In the photos this was the first week of having it

Rainbow- Hair dye used: Special Effects Virgin Rose, Deep Purple

Hair was dark brown and grey, bleached it before dyeing.
Pic's a few days after, was a mix of Virgin Rose and Deep Purple

I just got my hairdresser to dye more of my brown hair blonde (more like yellow not white blonde). I equally mixed Cherry Bomb with Atomic Pink. My roots took the blonde waaaay too much but I love the rest.

Miss Lolo- Hair dyes used: Special Effects Pimpin Purple, Blue Haired Freak, Cupcake Pink

Pic 1: Special Effects Pimpin Purple on most, Blue Haired Freak layered underneath
Pic 2: Special Effects Cupcake Pink on small section, Pimpin Purple layered underneath
In all of the Miss Lolo's pics she bleached her hair- originally light brown. All pics were a few days after dyeing

Sarah- Hair Dye used: Special Effects Wildflower

My name is Sarah and I’m a Special Effectsaholic. I’ve been using Wildflower for 9 years and I looove it! I have tried other colors, but I just love the vibrant blue in the first month, hot purple the second month and Easter purple the last month or so. I have so much fun with it. I have fairly black hair naturally. I bleach it to blond before adding the color. I like wildflower because you don’t need to bleach it to white to get a great color pay off
1. This is the first day
2. Here’s 3 weeks later
3. This application was before it even had a chance to fade about a week after the previous pic.
4. Here’s a month after that application
5. This is 3 months after my last application

Vicky- Hair Dye used: Special Effects Deep Purple, Atomic Pink

yes i bleached them b4 i dyed them. These are 2 weeks after. dyeing. The pink stayed pretty well but the tips faded a bit and the deep purples blue tint washed out and left me with almost the same color as the atomic pink.

I have been dyeing my hair some form of and unnatural hair color for about the last thirteen years,
The photos are a few colors I've chosen in the last year. I have a habit of re-dying my hair every 3-4 months.

Brandi- Hair Dye used: Special Effects Atomic Pink, Cupcake Pink, Pimpin Purple

My natural color is light brown, i always bleach my hair light before using SE colors!
in the 1st , 2nd, and 3rd pics (above) i used 1/2 atomic pink and 1/2 cup cake pink and pimpin purple on the ends!
3-4 washes

Hair dye used: Special Effects Hi-Octane Orange, Iguana Green, Blue Mayhem, Pimpin Purple, Atomic Pink

The 4th pic (below) i used hi-octane orange, iguana green, blue mayhem, pimpin purple, and atomic pink! 2 washes
I love SE colors they last long a fade pretty if applied correctly. Joyride is one color i'm not happy with!

Nikie- Hair Dye used: Special Effects Pimpin Purple, Special Effects Wildflower, Manic Panic Rock n Roll Red

My hair is naturally dark brown.
#1 and #2: Special Effects, Pimpin' Purple. I bleached it after using Manic Panic's Rock and Roll Red. Because of the remaining pink tinge, the Pimpin' Purple left some bright pink bits. The first picture is what I looked like about a week after dying it. The second picture is about a month after dying it. It faded into a very rich pink.

#3: bleached out the Pimpin' Purple and got a highlighter-pink effect. #4 and #5: Dyed over the highlighter-bleach pink with Special Effects Wild Flower. #4 is a few days after dying, #5 is about a month after dying. It sort of turned silver.

Claudia-Hair Dye used: Special Effects HI-Octane Orange, Napalm Orange, Manic Panic Purple Haze

My name's Claudia and I have been dyeing my hair for about four years now.
I last bleached my hair a year ago. I'm letting my hair grow out to bleach the roots.
The first picture is my latest dye job. I layered Special Effects Hi-Octane Orange and Manic Panic Purple Haze all throughout my hair, but applied a raspberry dye on my fringe (Pic. 1). I slept with the dye on. It was applied over faded Hi-Octane (Pic. 2), and lasted two weeks before noticeably fading.
Before (1), I had Hi-Octane all over my hair (Pic. 3), which I applied over faded Hi-Orange and Purple Haze (Pic. 4). To achieve the latter, the purple was applied as a horseshoe across my head. I kept that on for about two hours, and it lasted a week before the purple was turning pale blonde.
I used to have faux hawks in Special Effects Napalm Orange (Pic 5), which I would grow out (Pic. 6), re-dye, and re-cut.
This is a lovely website, and I'm happy to share these pictures with everyon

Jessi- Hair Dye used: Special Effects Virgin Rose

Jessi's hair is naturally a dark brown and bleached a light blonde before dying with
Special Effects Virgin Rose. The first pic is the week after dying her hair and
the second pic shows her two months after dying her hair. It still has a lot of color.

Angelica- Hair Dye use: Special Effects Pimpin Purple

Special Effects - Pimpin Purple
My hair was all black.I bleached it with 30 vol developer.
The color lasted 4weeks till i had to re-dye.

Colby- Hair Dye used: Special Effects Virgin Rose, Sonic Green, Pimpin Purple

I bring the dyes into a salon. My hair is naturally the dark brown color so my hairdresser bleaches it to a light brown so that it doesn't kill it. (the colors still work even if it's not white blonde, they just come out darker and not as showy. I can't bleach my hair for long or else it dies.) She then applies the colors using foils and sits me under a dryer for about 15-20 minutes. I have used so many brands and nothing has worked and lasted like Special Effects. The first picture is about 2 months after dying. ) The second picture is about 3 months after dying, and the third is the day of dying. I have found the teal lasts the least long, but does not fade to an ugly shade. The roots continue to stay teal while the ends fade. Pimpin' purple lasted a few washes until the virgin rose bled together with it and it all became a pinky-purple. I think pimpin' purple would be great by itself, though. The virgin rose lasts the best, which is odd considering it is a pink. It just keeps getting more magenta and brighter with each wash but never seems to fade, I don't get it. I have since switched to fish bowl and deep purple. The fish bowl is a more true teal if you're looking for an aqua color, while the sonic green is obviously more green. Deep purple fades to an even better color than when it's first dyed; it just gets more brilliant and violet with each wash. I kind of wish it didn't turn out so dark in the beginning because by the time it fades to the awesome violet, I am redying it. Your site helps immensely with all of the pictures, I would never be able to choose just by explanation. Great prices, too. Thanks, funkyshop.

Victoria-Hair Dye used: Special Effects Wildflower

- My hair is normally black, and I had chunks of it bleached to a pale yellow.
- I dyed it with Special Effects Wildflower.
- This picture is of the day after the dye job.
- It's been a month and the color is still very vibrant where my hair had been bleached the most pale, but it's turning a bit pastel where my hair wasn't bleached as much. Either way, I love it!

Sabiko-Hair Dye used: Special Effects Pimpin Purple and Deep Purple

I'm normally a huge SE Atomic Pink fan, but this last time I wanted to go purple. I got a bottle each of SE Pimpin' Purple and Deep Purple and did them pretty much back to back. I dyed right over the old color for about an hour, after lightly bleaching the roots to the same shade so it didn't look weird.
Pic 1-Deep Purple after 2weeks
Pic 2-Pimpin Purple after 3weeks
You can see the more pinky purple near the ends... totally unintentional, it was just fading faster there, but it looked sweet for a while.

Valerie and client- Hair dyes used: Special Effects Virgin Rose, Fish Bowl, Manic Panic Flamingo Pink

im a hair stylist, thats the salon behind me. i have bleached my hair previously but not this time, my natural color is a level 5 mousey brown, easy to bleach and takes abuse well with LOTS of conditioning!! this is special effect virgin rose and fishbowl. i applied the colors directly on top of other colors that had faded. in this picture the virgin rose is a month old and the fishbowl is fresh. the virgin rose holds really well. the fishbowl comes out greener than i would like, i think its time for some bleaching. i love this website its great for ideas now that i know its here ill be sending more pics of me and my clients.
Pics 2 & 3- This is my client, she came in all black with 5 months worth of regrowth. i bleached accordingly and applied a mix of manic panic flamingo pink and special effects virgin rose. i touched up the black, cleaned up the cut and blew her dry. i love what i do!! birds of a feather!!

Amy and friend-Hair Dye used: Special Effects Joy Ride, Deep Purple and Fishbowl

My name is amy and i use special effects on lots of my clients but i used it for the first time
on myself and im still in love with it!! This is the joy ride after 2 weeks of constant shampooing
still perfectly bright!!! love it! My hair was dark brown and i bleached it to a light orange

And the other one is of my client using deep purple and fishbowl. I had to bleach it out pretty light for the fishbowl.

NIkki- Hair Dye used: Mani Panic After Midnight Blue, Special Effects Atomic Pink and Virgin Rose

Pic #1- Manic Panic After Midnight Blue mixed with purple.. Since my hair is dark brown I bleached my hair blonde before hand. This was the first day, Pic #2 is 3 weeks later.
Pic #3- Special Effects Atomic Pink with purple. I re-bleached my hair before dying, this was the first day. Pic #4 is about a month later, and pic #5 is 3 1/2 months after having it done.
Pic #6- Special Effects Virgin Rose with purple, also left a streak of bleach blond. This was the first day. Pic #7 Is about 4 days later. Pic #8 Is about a month 1/2 later.

Stephanie-Hair Dye used: Special Effects Virgin Rose and Atomic Pink

I used a mix of Virgin Rose and Atomic Pink, both by Special Effects, I would say 80% VirginRose, 20% Atomic Pink, I did not Bleach my hair and my hair before applying the color was a light brown. The dye stays in well, The first picture was right after dying it and the second one is after four months without any touch up. Mine stays in so well and long because I am never in the sun and do not use any hairspray or gel, as this strips out the color fast.

Amber-Hair Dye used: Special Effects Virgin Rose

I bleached my hair first with L'oreals Superior Blonde bleaching kit, it came out as a sandy blonde. Then I applied Special Effects Virgin Rose. It lasted longer than my roots! 7 weeks of awesome color. Thank you guys!

Vicious Viv-Hair Dye used: Manic Panic Hot Hot Pink, Ultra Violet, Atomic Turquoise, Cotton Candy Pink

Pic #1 and #2 - Hot Hot Pink mixed with Cotton Candy Pink, Atomic Turqouise, and Ultra Violet, I dyed my hair in three different sections.
Pic #3 and #4 - Hot Hot Pink and Ultra Violet. I dyed my hair in two different sections.
Before I dyed my hair any colors, I used Flash Lightning Kit to bleach my hair almost a white shade.
I love Manic Panic Ive been using it since I was in middle school, but I keep hearing about Special Effects so im going to try it out.

Chelli-Hair Dye used: Fudge Raspberry Beret, Pretty Flamingo, Pink Moon, Punky Turquoise, Lagoon blue

I had a friend help me seperate my hair into 3 layers. The top layer is paintbox by fudge, Raspberry Beret and Pretty Flamingo. The bottom layer is punky colours, turquoise mixed with lagoon blue.

Viv- Hair Dye used: Manic Panic Hot Hot Pink, Atomic Turquoise, Ultraviolet

Hair dye used: Manic Panic: Hot Hot Pink (diluted), Atomic Turqouise (diluted), and Ultra Violet (diluted). Hot Hot Pink was used in the front, Atomic Turqouise was used in the back, and Ultra Violet was used down the middle of my hair, over bleached white hair, which is naturally dark brown.

Kirsten- Hair Dye used: Special Effects Virgin Rose

I've dyed my hair several funky colors, but currently I'm rocking
Special Effects' Virgin Rose (with a little bit of Splat's Pink Fetish
thrown in for good measure). I bleached my hair from a medium
brown to a very light blonde---though this isn't necessary to acheive
a vibrant pink---using Wella bleach powder (amazing stuff!) and
generic 30 vol. developer. This picture was taken about four weeks
after dying, so you can see my roots already beginning to show.
Virgin Rose dyes on pretty purple, but quickly fades to the bright
pink you see here. I'll be keeping this for a while. :)

Ashley- Hair Dye used: Special Effects Cherry Bomb and Pimpin Purple

The first photo shows all dimensions of my hair. My natural color, the color
my roots are bleached when dying, and the dyed hair. The upper half of the
colored part of my hair (from about my jawline to the bleach) is about 2 months
old. I actually let the dye sit anywhere from 1 hour to 3 or 4 hours if I can. I
applied the color over already dyed hair for maximum brightness.

The second photo was taken with a full head of Cherry Bomb applied 8 days
prior and having been washed twice since then. I only bleach my roots once,
to a pale blonde, and I always apply the dye over my already pink hair for the
brightest possible effect all over and to avoid having to damage my hair by
repeatedly bleaching it all over. I let the dye sit for only 1 hour before rinsing this time.

Amy K's Hair stylin- Hair Dye used: Special Effects listed below!

Catherine- Hair Dye used: Special Effects Virgin Rose and Deep Purple

I'm Catherine from Alaska.
I bleached my hair to a light blonde before putting chunks of 'Virgin Rose'
and 'Deep Purple' in my hair and I left it on for 30 minutes for each streak.
The picture of me with the wavy hair was two days after dying it, and it
hadn't been washed yet. The flash from my camera washed it out a little.
The straight hair picture was taken about two weeks after dying it, and it
had been washed around four times.
I've now had my hair done for about a month and the colors have not faded much,
and Virgin Rose is a FANTASTIC color to have if you want a hot pink at first that will
fade to a light cotton candy pink after time.
I suggest using sulfate-free shampoo and rinsing your hair in cold water, to
preserve the color longer.
All around, I am very happy with Special Effects.

arSinal and dR. Travma of TranceDoll Inc:
Hair Dye used: Special Effects various colors

Pic 1: arSINal dared to use a painting style featuring a Wild Flower background, Iguana Green Alien Face and Atomic Pink Crossbones!
Pic 2: She had a 'colorfall' with a layered effect using Limelight, Iguana Green, Electric Blue, Fishbowl Blue, Virgin Rose and Cupcake Pink.
Pic 3: She had a solid style using Wild Flower and Limelight(40 developer with Salon Care brand 'Quick White' bleach powder).
We are both naturally blonde, but have been dying our hair black for many years. So we started with black hair. arSINal is currently non-colorfied, however the dR. has not had to update his color for nearly eight weeks! We ONLY use Special Effects brand intense hair colors! Nothing else has ever come close in longevity, intensity and eco friendly-ness! We recommend SFX to anyone coloring hair!

Karen-Hair Dye used: Special Effects Deep Purple

I have dyed my hair using Special Effects hair dye for about 4 years,
including but not limited to fishbowl, electric
lue, blue mayhem, and deep purple. I use one dye at a time, no layering
or mixing, etc. My hair is naturally a very dark brown, so of course I
must bleach it with 40 volume before dying.

Tonks- Hair Dye used- Special Effects Fishbowl and Blue Mayhem, Cherry Bomb and Pimpin Purple
And, Tonks... Congrats!!

I usually use any and all colors I think will look good together. In the first pic, I used SE Fishbowl and SE Blue Mayhem. I usually dye each color seperate so they don't run together (unless I want them to) and then if I want some "blending" between colors, I will go back and dye over the spot lightly. In the second pic is my hair for my wedding in which I used SE Cherry Bomb and SE Pimpin Purple. Same procedure. My hair is always bleached before dyeing so that it is extra dry and will suck up the paint. My hair retains SE colors for 6 weeks or more with a little bit of fading because I only use hand soap to wash my hair. It helps with the dye bleeding out not as much. Blue hair pic, it was about 2 weeks, wedding pic is same day.

My hair was dyed black when I started and I bleached it,
and then applied the Special Effects toner to get the yellow tones out.
I try to get my hair as white as possible each time I bleach. My roots are
naturally a light brown so they turn out a lot lighter then the bottom part of my hair.
To keep the colours separate when I'm colouring, I part my hair into sections,
then use plastic wrap to make sure they don't mix.
The colours are 3 days old in this picture. The reason I love using Special Effects so much
is because the colour lasts SO long. I usually refresh the colour every 6 weeks or so.

Jeff LaBar of the bands Cinderella and Freakshow- Hair Dye used: Special Effects Deep Purple, Nuclear Red

1st, my hair dresser Tracey gave me a straightener perm.
Then she bleached chunks of my black hair and dyed each chunk
seperately with the above mentioned colors, with some chunks left blonde.
The pictures shown are within the week of the process.

Morgasaur-
Hair Dye used: First photo-Special Effects Joy Ride
Second photo-Special Effects Wild Flower and Sonic Green

It had been around a month since I last dyed it. For the Joyride, I used 40 volume developer and bleach. I left it on for about forty minutes until my hair was very pale blonde, then applied the color. I wished it would have lasted longer, however. I think perhaps because it's a lighter color, it faded faster, lasting only two, three weeks at best.
For the two tone, It had been around a month since I last dyed it. Wildflower and Sonic Green lasted about four weeks. The same bleaching process as above was used. As far as hair separation goes, my haircut sort of did it for me (all the very short, shaved parts, the sides and the back, I did green; the longer parts, I did purple).

Jenn-
Hair Dye used: Special Effects Midnight Blue, Fishbowl, Electric Blue, Pimpin Purple &
Punky Colour Plum

I used Punky Colour Plum & Midnight Blue, and Special Effects Fishbowl.
Plum was added to the roots of some very faded Special Effects PimpinPurple (done before w/ bleached hair).
For the blue part, it was overfaded Special Effects Electric Blue that I bleached it more,
plus someroots, allowing the previous blue to become very light, while letting the roots stop at a normal yellow.
Added Fishbowl over it all, then added some Midnight Blue to the ends. This picture is a couple days after dyeing.

Liz-
Hair Dye used- Special Effects Pimpin Purple

I used Special Effects color Pimpin' Purple. I dyed it over hair bleached to a light yellow.
The first picture was taken the day I dyed it, and the second picture was taken 3 months
after I dyed it. It faded to a magenta color about a month after I dyed it, and about
2 months after it faded to the pale pink in the second picture. Great color, though,
it lasted very long (I eventually had to dye over it because the color didn't entirely wash out),
and I have bought Special Effects colors ever since!

Lesik-
Hair Dye used:
Pic 1-Special Effects Pimpin Purple
Pic 2-Special Effects Electric Blue, Atomic Pink, Iguana Green, Deep Purple, Pimpin Purple
Pic 3- Special Effects Burgundy Wine

When Lesik was 3 she wanted rainbow hair. We started using special effects and haven't looked back. She is naturally blonde so I never had to use bleach and the color has always been amazing. when she was younger, I would just layer the colors when she wanted something new, but now we will bleach out the color that she wants to change and go from there. The first pic is Pimpin purple. The second is electric blue, atomic pink, iguana green, deep purple and pimpin purple. The 3rd is burgandy wine. We have used every color special effects has ever made. The colors that last the longest are atomic pink, deep purple and pimpin purple. The electric blue also lasts but tends to look purple after about two weeks. When we layer color we use rubberbands and foil and to make streaks we use a toothbrush. All of the pictures are at least two weeks or more after coloring. The only thing that seems to make the color fade fast is swimming. Other than that it has always been perfect.

My sister and I have been dying our hair with Special Effects hair dye for about three years now. We always bleach it out before putting the bright colors on, and have developed some techniques to make it last. I never have to re-dye because the color fades, only because my roots grow out!!
-We always use Special Effects... it is by far the best bright hair dye on the market!!
-Yes it is necessary to bleach our hair out before dying it, but we only bleach out the natural color, once the dye is in it stays. We do, however, put new color on top of the old dye job, it really mixes up the color and creates some cool shades! Keep in mind that the colors do change between a fresh dye and after a few washes.. so account for it when you decide what colors to use. I find that mixing the pinks, oranges and reds doesn't show up much in the beginning, but as the color fades they really come out!
-None of these pictures were taken immediately after dying, they all have at least a few weeks on them.

Kate-
Hair Dye used- Special Effects Cherry Bomb and Pimpin Purple

Hey! My name is Kate and I recently ordered some Special Effects hair dye from you guys. I've had so much trouble in the past with keeping colors in my hair, even when it was done professionally, so I figured I would only try one last time before going to something boring like brown. The reason I used special effects was because of its reviews, so I am glad to help other hair color connoisseurs in any way i can.
To do my hair I dyed it black then waited a week or so and bleached out what I wanted to dye. I used Cherry Bomb and Pimpin Purple and mixed the two in most places but the bottom is mostly pimpin purple, and my bangs have a lot of cherry bomb in it. I LOVED the results! The pictures don't do it justice really because the lighting is bad, but it's very vibrant, and very pretty. Most dyes i've used only last a week, if that. The first two pictures are my hair after 1 week. The next pictures are after 2 weeks. My hair hasn't faded a bit! It's still gorgeous and vibrant. I get compliments on it every day. On a side note, not only is it good color, but it's good for my hair. It didn't fry it or damage it in any way which is a major plus.

Margo
Hair Dye used- Special Effects Pimpin Purple, Fishbowl, and Blue Mayhem

Hi, my name is Margo . I've been dyeing my hair for about 13 years. I bleached my hair beforehand so the dye would be bright. I used three colors of Special Effects: the front section is Pimpin Purple, the stripe in the middle is Fish Bowl Blue, the back is Blue Mayhem. Some of the Fishbowl was layered on top of the Pimpin Purple which is why there is dark blue around the stripe. This was taken a day after I'd dyed it.

Jenn-
Hair Dye used- Manic Panic Ultra Violet

Hi, I'm Jenn~ I have naturally black hair (I'm Chinese) and used Manic Panic Ultra Violet for the purple and some generic brand pink, I think it's called Beyond the Zone? It's pretty bad, the lady at the salon said it started washing out even as she was doing the first rinse. The Manic Panic stays for a while though, like a couple of weeks. I had my hair bleached professionally at the salon and it ended up a yellow blonde, with some parts a little darker than others.

Mai-
Hair Dye used- Special Effects Pimpin Purple and Wildflower

Mai used Special Effects, a mix of Pimpin Purple and Wildflower after bleaching with 30 vol. Her hair was black before she started.
I dye it every 2 weeks because I’m a freak about keeping the color vibrant. I’ve moved on to Fishbowl.
