SPECIAL EFFECTS HAIR DYE Punky Color Hair Dye Manic Panic Hair Dye

But first, TAKE A LOOK!

Katie- Hair dye used: Special Effects Nuclear Red

I used Special Effects Nuclear Red after bleaching my hair (which was a washed out orangy color at first).
I left the dye on for about an hour.
The pictures show my hair the night of dying it.

Brandi- Hair Dye used: Special Effects Atomic Pink, Cupcake Pink, Pimpin Purple

My natural color is light brown, i always bleach my hair light before using SE colors!
in the 1st , 2nd, and 3rd pics (above) i used 1/2 atomic pink and 1/2 cup cake pink and pimpin purple on the ends!
3-4 washes

Hair dye used: Special Effects Hi-Octane Orange, Iguana Green, Blue Mayhem, Pimpin Purple, Atomic Pink

The 4th pic (below) i used hi-octane orange, iguana green, blue mayhem, pimpin purple, and atomic pink! 2 washes
I love SE colors they last long a fade pretty if applied correctly. Joyride is one color i'm not happy with!

Nikie- Hair Dye used: Special Effects Pimpin Purple, Special Effects Wildflower, Manic Panic Rock n Roll Red

My hair is naturally dark brown.
#1 and #2: Special Effects, Pimpin' Purple. I bleached it after using Manic Panic's Rock and Roll Red. Because of the remaining pink tinge, the Pimpin' Purple left some bright pink bits. The first picture is what I looked like about a week after dying it. The second picture is about a month after dying it. It faded into a very rich pink.

#3: bleached out the Pimpin' Purple and got a highlighter-pink effect. #4 and #5: Dyed over the highlighter-bleach pink with Special Effects Wild Flower. #4 is a few days after dying, #5 is about a month after dying. It sort of turned silver.

Krista- Hair Dye used: Special Effects Nuclear Red

I used Special Effects in Nuclear Red. I bleached my naturally dark
hair to get it to a yellow/orange color, then left the Nuclear Red on overnight.
The first picture was taken a couple days after I dyed it, and the second picture
was taken about two months later. The color has faded to a shade that still looks
red indoors, but is a really bright red/orange in sunlight.

Veronica-Hair Dye used: Special Effects Atomic Pink

I used Special Effects Atomic Pink.
I bleached my hair first to a light blonde
and then left the Atomic Pink on overnight.
In this picture it had been 2 months since I dyed it.

Cassandra- Hair Dye used: Special Effects Nuclear Red and Sonic Green

My hair was colored black, lightened with Flash Lightning 40vol. to the
yellow stage - did not use toner this time.
Used Special Effects Nuclear Red and Sonic Green for a festive look.
Hair was colored a week before taking this picture.

Chelli- Hair Dye used: Special Effects Atomic Pink, Blue Velevet, Fishbowl, Punky Lagoon Blue

Special FX: I redyed my hair using SFX Atomic Pink, Blue Velvet,
and Fishbowl mixed with Lagoon Blue. The pink in my hair was
faded to a reddish orange colour when I used SFX. Considering this,
I can't believe how long it lasted.

May- Hair Dye used: Manic Panic Hot Hot Pink, Special Effects Atomic Pink

I had a top layer of my naturally dark-brown hair lifted at a salon twice until it was as light as possible.
The bottom part was dyed black, and I used Manic Panic Hot Hot Pink on the blonde.
I only washed once every three days to maintain the color, and when I did I used a conditioner mixed with Special Effects Atomic Pink to keep it bright.
The first picture is of me the day it was dyed. The second is after a few weeks of washing it every day without my special conditioner (probably a few months after first dying it.)

Oley-Hair Dye used: Manic Panic Pillarbox Red

I used Manic Panic Pillarbox red over mostly faded Rock & Roll red.
I had bleached my hair with 40 volume (or whatever it is.
I was too excited about the color to really pay attention to the bleaching. xD)
bleach for 20 minutes back before I dyed that part of my hair red the first time.
I took the picture about a week after dying.

Francesca-Hair Dye used: Special Effects Cupcake Pink and Atomic Pink

I used Special Effects Cupcake left on for an hour or so over hair bleached to a yellowy blonde.
This was done late September, the picture was taken in mid-October.
The second picture is Atomic Pink over faded Special Effects Cupcake Pink.
This was done the monday before Halloween and the picture was taken two weeks later.

Tyree- Hair Dye used: Special Effects FishBowl

I used Special Effects' "Fishbowl." It was applied onto hair bleached to a golden blond.
The first picture was taken immediately after dying it, the second about a week later.
The third was taken a couple of days ago, roughly two months after dying it with no touch-ups.
As you can see, it's fading a bit green. Time to redo it. :)

Lauren- Hair Dye used: Special Effects Blood Red

I used Special Effects. I first had my hair dyed bleach blond.
Covered it with a permanent burgundy and when it faded, dyed it Blood Red.

Jessi- Hair Dye used: Special Effects Virgin Rose

Jessi's hair is naturally a dark brown and bleached a light blonde before dying with
Special Effects Virgin Rose. The first pic is the week after dying her hair and
the second pic shows her two months after dying her hair. It still has a lot of color.

Jackie- Hair Dye used: Special Effects Nuclear Red

I used Special Effects in Nuclear Red.
It was dyed about 2 weeks before taking this photo. My natural hair color is dark brown.
I had to bleach my hair with Vol.40 peroxide to lighten it.

Laura and Gabi- Hair Dye used: Special Effects Blue Mayhem

I used Special Effects - Blue Mayhem in all these pictures. The first picture is me about 2 weeks after dyeing, with normal shampooing. I did pre-bleach my hair to a light blonde. The second picture is a close up with flash the same night my hair was dyed. You can see all the beautiful purple and light blue tones. The last picture is of my little sister Gabi the same day we dyed her hair (she loved it!). We did not bleach or process it, just put the hair dye in over her blonde hair. It lasted around 4 weeks pretty vibrantly despite not bleaching it first. :]

Angelica- Hair Dye use: Special Effects Pimpin Purple

Special Effects - Pimpin Purple
My hair was all black.I bleached it with 30 vol developer.
The color lasted 4weeks till i had to re-dye.

Colby- Hair Dye used: Special Effects Virgin Rose, Sonic Green, Pimpin Purple

I bring the dyes into a salon. My hair is naturally the dark brown color so my hairdresser bleaches it to a light brown so that it doesn't kill it. (the colors still work even if it's not white blonde, they just come out darker and not as showy. I can't bleach my hair for long or else it dies.) She then applies the colors using foils and sits me under a dryer for about 15-20 minutes. I have used so many brands and nothing has worked and lasted like Special Effects. The first picture is about 2 months after dying. ) The second picture is about 3 months after dying, and the third is the day of dying. I have found the teal lasts the least long, but does not fade to an ugly shade. The roots continue to stay teal while the ends fade. Pimpin' purple lasted a few washes until the virgin rose bled together with it and it all became a pinky-purple. I think pimpin' purple would be great by itself, though. The virgin rose lasts the best, which is odd considering it is a pink. It just keeps getting more magenta and brighter with each wash but never seems to fade, I don't get it. I have since switched to fish bowl and deep purple. The fish bowl is a more true teal if you're looking for an aqua color, while the sonic green is obviously more green. Deep purple fades to an even better color than when it's first dyed; it just gets more brilliant and violet with each wash. I kind of wish it didn't turn out so dark in the beginning because by the time it fades to the awesome violet, I am redying it. Your site helps immensely with all of the pictures, I would never be able to choose just by explanation. Great prices, too. Thanks, funkyshop.

Patricia-Hair Dye used: Special Effects Blue Velvet, Cherry Bomb, Limelight, Cupcake Pink

My original hair color before dyeing was black and I always bleach my hair to change the color.
I took the pics 2 weeks after dyeing my hair.

Victoria-Hair Dye used: Special Effects Wildflower

- My hair is normally black, and I had chunks of it bleached to a pale yellow.
- I dyed it with Special Effects Wildflower.
- This picture is of the day after the dye job.
- It's been a month and the color is still very vibrant where my hair had been bleached the most pale, but it's turning a bit pastel where my hair wasn't bleached as much. Either way, I love it!

Sabiko-Hair Dye used: Special Effects Pimpin Purple and Deep Purple

I'm normally a huge SE Atomic Pink fan, but this last time I wanted to go purple. I got a bottle each of SE Pimpin' Purple and Deep Purple and did them pretty much back to back. I dyed right over the old color for about an hour, after lightly bleaching the roots to the same shade so it didn't look weird.
Pic 1-Deep Purple after 2weeks
Pic 2-Pimpin Purple after 3weeks
You can see the more pinky purple near the ends... totally unintentional, it was just fading faster there, but it looked sweet for a while.

Tassy*Pink- Hair Dye used: Special Effects Atomic Pink and Cupcake Pink

Favorite-ALWAYS SFX Atomic Pink after 6 years trying other brands/colors - AP is the only one that lasts forever, doesn't fade & remains vibrant.
What color was your hair before you started? Naturally dark brown, bordering on black.
Did you bleach your hair first? Yes, 40 weight creme developer with protein filler & quick blue lightening powder, sometimes twice, usually once with more time on the roots - 45min, 20 minutes over any leftover pink towards the ends.

Electrolux-Hair Dye used: Special Effects Fishbowl, Atomic Pink

BRAND: Special Effects (I swear by this stuff!)
COLORS: Fish Bowl & Atomic Pink
Before I started, I bleached my hair to white-blonde (still visible in the photograph). I've been blessed with naturally light hair so getting it white has never been a problem. In this photo, the dye is about a week old. To keep the colours bright, I always wash my hair in cold water, and mix a little bit of dye in with my shampoo when the colour needs refreshing.

Emily-Hair Dye used: Manic Panic Hot Hot Pink and Vampire Red

I used used manic panic hot hot pink mixed with vampire red. i mixed one full jar of hot hot pink into a bowl with half vampire red and evenly applied to my entire head. the color of my hair before i started was a light auburn. i did not bleach my hair first. this picture was taken a week after i freshly dyed my hair, it's been fading out slowly but maintaining it's brilliancy, i have noticed it's actually getting brighter as the fading takes place, pretty decent staying power, i use a color treated hair shampoo and a good conditioner.

Amy and friend-Hair Dye used: Special Effects Joy Ride, Deep Purple and Fishbowl

My name is amy and i use special effects on lots of my clients but i used it for the first time
on myself and im still in love with it!! This is the joy ride after 2 weeks of constant shampooing
still perfectly bright!!! love it! My hair was dark brown and i bleached it to a light orange

And the other one is of my client using deep purple and fishbowl. I had to bleach it out pretty light for the fishbowl.

Kadee- Hair Dye used: Special Effects Napalm Orange

This photo is when I had my hair dyed with Napalm Orange by Special Effects.
It was over completely bleached hair that had previously been dark brown.
Napalm is probably my favorite hair color in the world. ;) It lasts me a month
or two, basically until my roots start to show & need to be taken care of.

Amy- Hair Dye used: Special Effects Nuclear Red

I have dyed my hair TOOONS of colors but this time I decided to try Special Effects' Nuclear Red. I bleach my hair ALOT so it gets pretty dried out. So this time, I didnt pre-bleach it. I dyed it over a faded blueish green color (sonic green). These photos were taken the day after I dyed it. So far after 2 weeks the color is still going pretty strong.

Cakidzmum - Hair Dye used: Manic Panic Hot Hot Pink

What brand of hair dye did you use? Manic Panic
What color or colors of hair dye you used. Hot, hot pink
What color was your hair before you started? Dark, dark, brown
Did you bleach your hair first? Yes, my hair was highlighted for the summe
How long has it been since you dyed it? two weeks in this picture

Stephanie-Hair Dye used: Special Effects Virgin Rose and Atomic Pink

I used a mix of Virgin Rose and Atomic Pink, both by Special Effects, I would say 80% VirginRose, 20% Atomic Pink, I did not Bleach my hair and my hair before applying the color was a light brown. The dye stays in well, The first picture was right after dying it and the second one is after four months without any touch up. Mine stays in so well and long because I am never in the sun and do not use any hairspray or gel, as this strips out the color fast.

Dayle- Hair Dye used: Manic Panic Vampire Red

I used manic panic vampire red. my hair was a natural redish orange before i dyed it. i left it in for about an hour and i did not bleach it before. these pics were taken the day that i dyed it. it does wash out after a few weeks but i have short hair so one jar of it does last me a while.

Brittany- Hair Dye used: Special Effects Nuclear Red

I'm Brittany. I bleach my hair blonde first and use special effects nuclear red.
It usually lasts for almost a month before i touch it up. I've been using it for
at least a year or two. i love it.

Amber-Hair Dye used: Special Effects Virgin Rose

I bleached my hair first with L'oreals Superior Blonde bleaching kit, it came out as a sandy blonde. Then I applied Special Effects Virgin Rose. It lasted longer than my roots! 7 weeks of awesome color. Thank you guys!

Brooce- Hair Dye used: Special Effects Atomic Pink and Fishbowl

Pictures 1 : Hair dye used: Special Effects Atomic pink and Fishbowl (+offbrand colorenhancer)I started out with Atomic Pink, which I'd let grow out for 2-3 months. My roots are dark brown, and I bleached those to a light blond withquick blue powder and a 40 vol. creme developer, and dyed everything but the tips (which I left pink) with a mixture of Fishbowl and a Clairolblue color enhancer. Let sit for 2 hours, rinsed with cold water.Photo was taken 24 hours after original dyeing.Picture 2: Hair dye used:Special Effects Atomic pink I used quick blue powder and 40 vol. developer to bleach my dark brownhair to light blonde, washed, dryed, put in the Atomic pink, left it foran hour, and rinsed with cold water.

Emma- Hair Dye used: Manic Panic Hot Hot Pink

I have been using manic panic for over a year now, and i am positively in love with it. for the hot hot pink, i did the same thing, i washed my naturally blonde hair throughly to make sure it was clean, then dryed it with a hairdryer and seperated my hair, leaving out the sections i wanted to be coloured. then i put on gloves and applied the dye with a tint brush.

Vicious Viv-Hair Dye used: Manic Panic Hot Hot Pink, Ultra Violet, Atomic Turquoise, Cotton Candy Pink

Pic #1 and #2 - Hot Hot Pink mixed with Cotton Candy Pink, Atomic Turqouise, and Ultra Violet, I dyed my hair in three different sections.
Pic #3 and #4 - Hot Hot Pink and Ultra Violet. I dyed my hair in two different sections.
Before I dyed my hair any colors, I used Flash Lightning Kit to bleach my hair almost a white shade.
I love Manic Panic Ive been using it since I was in middle school, but I keep hearing about Special Effects so im going to try it out.

Chelli-Hair Dye used: Fudge Raspberry Beret, Pretty Flamingo, Pink Moon, Punky Turquoise, Lagoon blue

I had a friend help me seperate my hair into 3 layers. The top layer is paintbox by fudge, Raspberry Beret and Pretty Flamingo. The bottom layer is punky colours, turquoise mixed with lagoon blue.

Morgasaur: Hair Dye used: Renbow Crazy Colors

From front to back: Violette, Sky Blue, Emerald Green, Canary Yellow, Napalm Orange (Special Effects) and Fire! All the Crazy Color colors you guys sent me, haha. Enjoy.

Viv- Hair Dye used: Manic Panic Hot Hot Pink, Atomic Turquoise, Ultraviolet

Hair dye used: Manic Panic: Hot Hot Pink (diluted), Atomic Turqouise (diluted), and Ultra Violet (diluted). Hot Hot Pink was used in the front, Atomic Turqouise was used in the back, and Ultra Violet was used down the middle of my hair, over bleached white hair, which is naturally dark brown.

Elyse- Hair Dye used: Special Effects Atomic Pink

The brand of dye I used was Special Effects Atomic Pink. No othercolors were used, just straight up Atomic Pink. My hair is naturallya dirty blonde/light brown color, but I bleached it with a light 20volume bleach to a very light blonde. These pics are taken at variousstages, but I can assure you that I only have to dye my hair (notincluding roots) every two months or so with Atomic Pink...also, itstains fiberglass bathtubs but it's well worth it ;)

Nik-Hair Dye used: Special Effects and Manic Panic

I have been dyeing my hair for ages and have used both Manic Panic and Special Effects colors, as well as some Punky Colour shades. I find that Special Effects lasts the longest, but sometimes I still use MP in a pinch if I need a touchup while I wait for some SE color to ship. Anywho, here we go.... Pic #1 is a combo of Special Effects Blue Velvet and Special Effects Purple Smoke over salon highlights, touched up with Manic Panic Black and Blue - very subtle but very cool looking under the right light. Pic 2 is Manic Panic Cotton Candy Pink over bleached hair (very early after dyeing.... it faded super fast). The third picture is Punky Red Wine over a faded all-over application of red L'Oreal Colour Rays. The last picture is of Special Effects Atomic Pink over bleached hair (a couple of weeks after dyeing.... this shade lasts for ages).

Jennifer- Hair Dye used: Special Effects Nuclear Red

I used Nuclear red by Special effects hair dye,I bleached my hair to
platinum blond which was naturally a golden brown with jerome russell
30 volume bleach and then I let it dry, after that i added the nuclear red
for an hour.I rinsed the color out and let it dry.In this picture it had been
4 washes.

Kirsten- Hair Dye used: Special Effects Virgin Rose

I've dyed my hair several funky colors, but currently I'm rocking
Special Effects' Virgin Rose (with a little bit of Splat's Pink Fetish
thrown in for good measure). I bleached my hair from a medium
brown to a very light blonde---though this isn't necessary to acheive
a vibrant pink---using Wella bleach powder (amazing stuff!) and
generic 30 vol. developer. This picture was taken about four weeks
after dying, so you can see my roots already beginning to show.
Virgin Rose dyes on pretty purple, but quickly fades to the bright
pink you see here. I'll be keeping this for a while. :)

Ayana-Hair Dye used: Special Effects Nuclear Red, Hi-Octane Orange, Atomic Pink

I mixed different portions of each color until I got the color I desired, tested it on a white paper towel, then let it sit for an hour under no heat. My hair was a medium copper red all over and a little darker in the front and a lot lighter on the side from pre-bleaching. This picture was taken about an hour after I had colored my hair.

Daniela-Hair Dye used: Special Effects Hi-Octane Orange and Manic Panic Electric Banana

I’ve been using manic panic and special effects for over four years now and haven’t found anything better. I’m a stylist in Texas and do many clients that prefer to have bold vivid colors, and this line comes to mind first. I’ve pretty much experienced every color, but these seem to be my favorites, manic panic electric banana and special effect octane orange. My hair is naturally a level two (which is natural black/dark brown) I bleached out my hair I want to say twice to get to this level of intensity. I used bleach with 30 volume the first time, waited about two weeks then bleached again with 40 this time. Wouldn’t recommend anyone to do that unless they are doing conditioning treatments. This picture was taken about a week after I had dyed my hair which is approximately 2 washes. Color lasted about a month before I had to reapply it.

Gracie-Hair Dye use: Special Effects Atomic Pink

I used special effects atomic pink on bleached to nearly white hair
my natural color is medium brown the dark brown you see is dyed and the blonde is bleached
all pics are right after having been dyed except the second one-thats an example of about a month after (the atomic pink seems to last much longer than other colors) The first picture with the blonde hair... i only left the color on for about 30 minutes on all others i left it on at the very least an hour... i work at a salon (im not a stylist) and we have found that flat ironing the hair after dying it seems to help seal the color in too... the 3rd piclooks more red but it must have ben the lighting... it was also an all over application that gave my dark brown hair a hint of pink color too... all sections were foiled and bleached first

Holly Halftone- Hair Dye used: Special Effects Nuclear Red

I'm an alternative model and I've been using Special Effects Nuclear Red hair dye for ages now!I bleached using 40volume, then use pure SE nuclear red.My hair is naturally dark brown, almost black.Special Effects always lasts a month before even starting to fade, so I love it !

Chie-Hair Dye used: Special Effects Blue Velvet, Electric Blue, Limelight, and Fishbowl

Blue Velvet, Electric Blue mixed with Limelight, and Fish Bowl, allapplied in a mottled haphazard kind of way. I wasn't wearing gloves,so I was trying to do it as quickly as possible, so I wouldn't end uplooking completely like sonic the hedgehog. My hair is normally dark-brown, but I've bleached and dyed it alot, so before it was a light purple-pink as faded from blue velvet several months before. I did re-bleach my hair, as I had a significant chunk of unbleached roots and had just gotten a hair cut. I have been dyeing my hair for 6 years at least, but the last timeI dyed it was a few months prior, probably 2 or 3, as I had significantly longer hair and was running out of dye.

Meaghan- Hair Dye used- Manic Panic Vampire Red

Brand of hair dye is: Manic Panic Vampire Red. I started with bleaching my hair out to a light blonde with a 40 volume developer and dyed that part the manic panic red and underneath was dyed black and then streaks of black were put through the red about 24 hours later using a nice and easy black. The manic panic would fade out to a bright orange colour in about 4 weeks and would need to be redyed (I would bleach my hair at this point as well). The three pictures here were the first time I ever put 'semi' permanent hair colour in my hair. I've been using that combination ever since, but am thinking of trying special effects blood red next time. :) Oh, and my hair is naturally medium blonde.

Ashley- Hair Dye used: Special Effects Cherry Bomb and Pimpin Purple

The first photo shows all dimensions of my hair. My natural color, the color
my roots are bleached when dying, and the dyed hair. The upper half of the
colored part of my hair (from about my jawline to the bleach) is about 2 months
old. I actually let the dye sit anywhere from 1 hour to 3 or 4 hours if I can. I
applied the color over already dyed hair for maximum brightness.

The second photo was taken with a full head of Cherry Bomb applied 8 days
prior and having been washed twice since then. I only bleach my roots once,
to a pale blonde, and I always apply the dye over my already pink hair for the
brightest possible effect all over and to avoid having to damage my hair by
repeatedly bleaching it all over. I let the dye sit for only 1 hour before rinsing this time.

Amy K's Hair stylin- Hair Dye used: Special Effects listed below!

Hi im a stylist - here are pictures from my clients.
The first one was done on bleached hair with the atomic pink
The second was done on bleached hair with the fish bowl
The third was done on bleached hair mixing the cherry bomb and hioctane orange together

\
First is pimpin purple
Second is cherry bomb
Third is some cherry bomb, fishbowl, electric blue and atomic pink
I absolutely love this colour line i just cant get enough
thanks alot

Sam- Hair Dye used: Special Effects Electric Blue

Here's a picture of myself with electric blue dye in my hair. The flash washed it out a little, unfortunately. It was quite a bit brighter-looking in person in natural light. It faded over time to purple and then pink :) It was dyed over bleached hair, though not completely white bleached.

Catherine- Hair Dye used: Special Effects Virgin Rose and Deep Purple

I'm Catherine from Alaska.
I bleached my hair to a light blonde before putting chunks of 'Virgin Rose'
and 'Deep Purple' in my hair and I left it on for 30 minutes for each streak.
The picture of me with the wavy hair was two days after dying it, and it
hadn't been washed yet. The flash from my camera washed it out a little.
The straight hair picture was taken about two weeks after dying it, and it
had been washed around four times.
I've now had my hair done for about a month and the colors have not faded much,
and Virgin Rose is a FANTASTIC color to have if you want a hot pink at first that will
fade to a light cotton candy pink after time.
I suggest using sulfate-free shampoo and rinsing your hair in cold water, to
preserve the color longer.
All around, I am very happy with Special Effects.

Leah- Hair Dye used: Special Effects Atomic Pink

This is me with Special Effects, Atomic Pink, ordered from FunkyShop - applied over
bleached dark brown hair. I actually like this color best after it's faded a little from
several washings. The photos attached were taken about a month after I put the
dye in, and it lasted quite a long time except for the ends which you can see are a little light.

Celine- Hair Dye used: Special Effects Cupcake Pink

After bleaching all of my brown hair to a nice pale blonde, I left
Special Effects' Cupcake Pink on for 30 minutes. It has been a month
since I dyed my hair and it faded nicely to a pale baby pink.

arSinal and dR. Travma of TranceDoll Inc:
Hair Dye used: Special Effects various colors

Pic 1: arSINal dared to use a painting style featuring a Wild Flower background, Iguana Green Alien Face and Atomic Pink Crossbones!
Pic 2: She had a 'colorfall' with a layered effect using Limelight, Iguana Green, Electric Blue, Fishbowl Blue, Virgin Rose and Cupcake Pink.
Pic 3: She had a solid style using Wild Flower and Limelight(40 developer with Salon Care brand 'Quick White' bleach powder).
Pic 4: dR. dyed with HI-Octane Orange.
We are both naturally blonde, but have been dying our hair black for many years. So we started with black hair. arSINal is currently non-colorfied, however the dR. has not had to update his color for nearly eight weeks! We ONLY use Special Effects brand intense hair colors! Nothing else has ever come close in longevity, intensity and eco friendly-ness! We recommend SFX to anyone coloring hair!

Karen-Hair Dye used: Special Effects
Pic 1 Electric Blue
Pic 2 Deep Purple
Pic 3 Fishbowl
Pic 4 Blue Mayhem
Pic 5 Green Iguana

I have dyed my hair using Special Effects hair dye for about 4 years,
including but not limited to fishbowl, electric
lue, blue mayhem, and deep purple. I use one dye at a time, no layering
or mixing, etc. My hair is naturally a very dark brown, so of course I
must bleach it with 40 volume before dying.

Tonks- Hair Dye used- Special Effects Fishbowl and Blue Mayhem, Cherry Bomb and Pimpin Purple
And, Tonks... Congrats!!

I usually use any and all colors I think will look good together. In the first pic, I used SE Fishbowl and SE Blue Mayhem. I usually dye each color seperate so they don't run together (unless I want them to) and then if I want some "blending" between colors, I will go back and dye over the spot lightly. In the second pic is my hair for my wedding in which I used SE Cherry Bomb and SE Pimpin Purple. Same procedure. My hair is always bleached before dyeing so that it is extra dry and will suck up the paint. My hair retains SE colors for 6 weeks or more with a little bit of fading because I only use hand soap to wash my hair. It helps with the dye bleeding out not as much. Blue hair pic, it was about 2 weeks, wedding pic is same day.

Lizette-
Hair Dye used: Special Effects Cherry Bomb and Nuclear Red

I used special effects hair dye in colors cherry bomb and nuclear red mixed in equal parts.
It always lasts me about 6 weeks before i have to re-touch. did not have to bleach since
hair was already light

Brynnaaa Brontosaurus-
Hair Dye used: Punky color Atlantic Blue, Turquoise, Bright Yellow

I used Punky Color Atlantic Blue, Turquoise, Bright Yellow to blow my peers outta the water at graduation this year. I just sorta did a rush job of throwing the blues in, then just put the yellow right above the blue and left my roots platinum. I keep my hair platinum year round, so I'm always dying my hair fun colors. But always end up wanting to be blond again immediately (like now). I took this picture a couple days after graduation, but now it's been about a month with it, the yellow is completely faded but that's due to the lack of time that I let it sit, the turqoise is a light blue, and the atlantic blue is turqoise, I'm so ready to be blond again!

Morgasaur-
Hair Dye used: Renbow Crazy Color Silver and Sky Blue

It lasts about 3-4 weeks, depending on how often I shampoo, the
porosity of my hair, etc. I just really like it (Crazy Color)because they
have some unique colors. They're from the UK.

Lizzette-
Hair Dye used:Manic Panic Hot Hot Pink

I bleached my hair with 40 volume first, my hair is crazy dark and I need it to be crazy light to get my colors as bright as they can get. The instructions on the jar say to leave the color in for about 15-30 minutes but I leave it in for about an hour and hit it with a blow dryer, the color lasts longer and stays brighter that way :].

I´m Patricia from Brazil and here´s some pictures of my hair.
My hair is black and I bleach it first (to a golden blonde).
The pictures shown were taken the next day. (*except the rainbow- atomic pink and plum - 45 days after dyed them*)

Jayne-Hair Dye used: Special Effects Candy Apple Red, Devilish, Cherry Bomb

Hi, here are some photos of Special Effects hair dye in natural brightsun (it really glows!) as well as in bar lighting. I use a professional L'oreal MagiRouge "Copper Red" color to dye my long, darkbrown hair an orangey-red shade first, then apply the Special Effects over that. The color lasts a few weeks, fading gradually whenever I wash it, until it looks either pink or orange by the time I need to do my roots again. On average, I get about ten compliments a day on my hair, including many questions from people who want to replicate the color themselves. The photos show a random mix of Candy Apple Red, Devilish, and Cherry Bomb in varying proportions and the first two seem to fade less than the third. I only use permanent color at the base, to lighten the new growth, but reapply Special Effects all over each time, due to fading. I have tried other color lines like PunkyColor and Manic Panic, but found Special Effects to be the richest and longest-lasting.

Sofi-
Hair Dye used: Special Effects Atomic Pink

What color was your hair before you started? Dark blonde
Did you bleach your hair first? Yes
How long has it been since you dyed it? Three months

Jamie-
Hair Dye used: Punky Colour Poppy Red, Apple Green

My hair is naturally black and was dyed black, so it took a double process bleaching to get it to a blonde.
I parted my hair and using a brush to be neat, I did the red and then the green. The apple green came out
more turquoise, but everyone loves it!
The picture is after 3 washings and still looks awesome. I part the green from the red and wash each part
separately so they won't bleed together.

Morgasaur-
Renbow Crazy Color Sky Blue, Special Effects Bright as #$@ Yellow

First I used 40 volume developer and bleaching powder to lift all the color from my hair.
I left it on for about forty minutes. After rinsing and shampoo, Limelight and
Bright As F@#$ Yellow (Special Effects brand) were mixed and then applied to the portion
of hair seen. Renbow Crazy Color Sky Blue was using sparingly and vigorously rubbed into hair;
if you use too much, it will become darker than the intended color.
My hair was dark brown with faded Atomic Pink and Sonic Green tips (Special Effects brand).
Pics taken about a month after dyeing.

freshccs- Hair Dye used: Special Effects Virgin Rose

i used special effects hair dye, which i think is the most greatest dye ever..
i used virgin rose colour over dyed blonde hair and my hair is naturaly almost black brown..
its been about 5/6 months since i dyed it and it still looks great..
the first picture is a day after colouring
the second picture is the night i dyed it
the third pic is a few weeks after colouring
and the last pic is months after and still beautiful..

Leslie-
Hair Dye used: Manic Panic Wildfire

Manic PanicWildfire- applied over my unbleached and natural strawberry blonde hair
The photo was taken about a week after dying it. It was the first time I dyed my hair
without bleaching first, and the color came out great. Vibrant, but not too unnatural
and off-putting. The dye only stayed in for a few weeks though, because I did not bleach first.

Tasha-
Hair Dye used: Special Effects Atomic Pink

I used SE Atomic Pink over very bleached hair. I have dark ash-blonde hair naturally, and bleached it with 40vol bleach for about 1/2 hour, which absolutely killed it. I used a Keratine conditioner to re-strengthen my hair and then put in the pink, which lasted very well probably because of the damage! picture 1 is a few days after dyeing! glowinthedark picture is with a blacklight, shortly after dyeing! =D Pic 3 -after 2 months haha I've refreshed the color twice since the initial dyeing (first was Jan of 2009, then March 09, then April). I wash my hair every 2-3 days, and it's lasted well and faded to a still acceptable shade of pink after a month or so.

Sara-
Hair Dye used: Special Effects Virgin Rose and Blue Mayhem

My hair was dyed black when I started and I bleached it,
and then applied the Special Effects toner to get the yellow tones out.
I try to get my hair as white as possible each time I bleach. My roots are
naturally a light brown so they turn out a lot lighter then the bottom part of my hair.
To keep the colours separate when I'm colouring, I part my hair into sections,
then use plastic wrap to make sure they don't mix.
The colours are 3 days old in this picture. The reason I love using Special Effects so much
is because the colour lasts SO long. I usually refresh the colour every 6 weeks or so.

Calista-
Hair Dye used: Special Effects Electric Blue

It was dyed over top of light brown hair with blonde highlights and caught and stuck to the hair very well!!
The picture was taken immediately after dyed and lasted for 3 to 4 weeks and faded to a fushia which still looked good!

Madison-
Hair Dye used: Special Effects Atomic Pink

I used special effects atomic pink, but I had to bleach the crap out of my hair fist since my
natural color is dark brown.
This was taken about a month and a half in. I've had my hair this way for almost six months
now and have only redone the color three times; it hardly fades at all!

Katie-
Hair Dye used: Special Effects Napalm Orange

Napalm Orange was applied all over the head. Two bottles used.
What color was your hair before you started? dark blonde
Did you bleach your hair first? yes
How long has it been since you dyed it? 2-3 days

Jeff LaBar of the bands Cinderella and Freakshow- Hair Dye used: Special Effects Deep Purple, Nuclear Red

1st, my hair dresser Tracey gave me a straightener perm.
Then she bleached chunks of my black hair and dyed each chunk
seperately with the above mentioned colors, with some chunks left blonde.
The pictures shown are within the week of the process.
Hair stylist: Tracey Nauman, www.salon4rockville.com

Jeff LaBar of the bands Cinderella and Freakshow again- Hair Dye used: Special Effects Nuclear Red, Hi Octane Orange

1st my hair was dyed back to black. Then chucks were bleached from the top of my head down.
Next, Tracey added the red to the top and orange next in the middle fading to the bleached tips,
creating what she calls a "fireball". Personally I think it looks like a sunset.
Do not try this at home. No seriously...don't. (Actually, you can give it a try)
The pictures shown were taken the next day.

Morgasaur-
Hair Dye used: First photo-Special Effects Joy Ride
Second photo-Special Effects Wild Flower and Sonic Green

It had been around a month since I last dyed it. For the Joyride, I used 40 volume developer and bleach. I left it on for about forty minutes until my hair was very pale blonde, then applied the color. I wished it would have lasted longer, however. I think perhaps because it's a lighter color, it faded faster, lasting only two, three weeks at best.
For the two tone, It had been around a month since I last dyed it. Wildflower and Sonic Green lasted about four weeks. The same bleaching process as above was used. As far as hair separation goes, my haircut sort of did it for me (all the very short, shaved parts, the sides and the back, I did green; the longer parts, I did purple).

Rainbow colors: Special Effects Atomic Pink, Napalm Orange, Bright As F@#$ Yellow, Limelight, and Fishbowl.

It had been around a month since I last dyed it. For the rainbow, the same bleaching process/ingredients as above were used. This one was kind of tricky. I judged it by eye (how I do most of my hair) and started with the front, by applying color, and then wrapping that section in tin foil. I did that with all five colors. The pink and orange lasted around three or four weeks. The green, yellow and blue lasted around two.

Sabiko-
Hair Dye used- Special Effects Atomic Pink and Blood Red

For the first, I used Special Effects Atomic Pink (mid October 08). I bleached my hair two days before from a light brown, otherwise I didn't do anything special.
The second pic is about two months later. Still looks pretty much the same, just the roots were peeking out.
Third pic-I decided to redye and picked Special Effects Blood Red this time. I bleached my roots, but didn't mess with the pink. Maybe that's why, but the color didn't last nearly as long (about 2.5 weeks). Too bad, because I really love how it looked!
Fourth pic- As it faded... The pink was still there, bright as ever. This picture was taken about a month and a half after the red dye - early February - almost five months and the pink is STILL going strong! I would definitely recommend this product to anyone looking for a vibrant pink with serious staying power. This stuff is BRIGHT. Pictures just don't do it justice. Not a quiet color, that's for sure. I've gotten tons of comments both good and bad, people asking the product name, little kids craning out of strollers to stare at my hair, audible gasps as people's corneas are seared, etc. I've even had old ladies tell me they wish they could dye their hair pink. I always tell them to go for it!

Pixi-
Hair Dye used: Manic Panic Ultra Violet, Special Effects eEectric Blue, Blue Mayhem, and Fishbowl

Methods used: My hair is naturally light brown, but I haven't seen it in thirteen years. I bleached my hair first using a 20vol. developer, it became a light blonde and still had some light pink in it (from using Atomic Pink previously). Then I just randomly sectioned it off with clips, and dyed each section an individual color. Fishbowl is on top, Ultraviolet is in the front, the Blue mayhem and Electric blue covers the rest, with a few more random pieces of fishbowl! I blow dried it all over and waited about an hour before rinsing.
Photos were taken about a day after dying.

Brittany-
Hair Dye used:First- Manic Panic Midnight Blue, Second- Special Effects Atomic Pink

The blue was about 1 week after the dye
The pink was about 2 weeks after the dye.
First I had prelightened my hair, and in the case of the blue I had added red (from another brand)
and blue in various places on my head and let it sit...and... viola!
With the pink first I dyed my tips purple, then I put the pink.
I loved the colors, right now my hair is a more natural brownish/red, but I will soon be going a little crazier.

Tiffany-
Hair Dye used: Special Effects Atomic Pink

This is Special Effects Atomic Pink over freshly bleached hair.
The first picture is the day I dyed it, but it really doesn't fade, as you can see
in the second picture which is a month and a half later.
It's still really bright even in the dark setting.

Jenn-
Hair Dye used: Special Effects Midnight Blue, Fishbowl, Electric Blue, Pimpin Purple &
Punky Colour Plum

I used Punky Colour Plum & Midnight Blue, and Special Effects Fishbowl.
Plum was added to the roots of some very faded Special Effects PimpinPurple (done before w/ bleached hair).
For the blue part, it was overfaded Special Effects Electric Blue that I bleached it more,
plus someroots, allowing the previous blue to become very light, while letting the roots stop at a normal yellow.
Added Fishbowl over it all, then added some Midnight Blue to the ends. This picture is a couple days after dyeing.

Liz-
Hair Dye used- Special Effects Pimpin Purple

I used Special Effects color Pimpin' Purple. I dyed it over hair bleached to a light yellow.
The first picture was taken the day I dyed it, and the second picture was taken 3 months
after I dyed it. It faded to a magenta color about a month after I dyed it, and about
2 months after it faded to the pale pink in the second picture. Great color, though,
it lasted very long (I eventually had to dye over it because the color didn't entirely wash out),
and I have bought Special Effects colors ever since!

Alex-
Hair Dye used- Special Effects Fishbowl

My name is Alex and these pictures are of Special Effects Fishbowl. The first one is about a week after dyeing it.
The next, after 3-4 months. My hair is a medium brown normally so I bleached it first.

Alexis-
Hair Dye used- Punky Colour Violet

What brand of hair dye did you use? Punky Colour Violet
What color was your hair before you started? A really light pink
Did you bleach your hair first? Not really but a few months ago.
How long has it been since you dyed it? 4 days ago

Lesik-
Hair Dye used:
Pic 1-Special Effects Nuclear red, Electric Blue
Pic 2-Special Effects Pimpin Purple
Pic 3-Special Effects Electric Blue, Atomic Pink, Iguana Green, Deep Purple, Pimpin Purple

When Lesik was 3 she wanted rainbow hair. We started using special effects and haven't looked back. She will be 13 in a few days so we are pretty good judges of the product. She is naturally blonde so I never had to use bleach and the color has always been amazing. when she was younger, I would just layer the colors when she wanted something new, but now we will bleach out the color that she wants to change and go from there. The first pic is a combo of nuclear red and electric blue. The second is Pimpin purple. The 3rd is electric blue, atomic pink, iguana green, deep purple and pimpin purple. The 4th is atomic pink and the last is burgandy wine. We have used every color special effects has ever made. The colors that last the longest are atomic pink, deep purple and pimpin purple. The electric blue also lasts but tends to look purple after about two weeks. When we layer color we use rubberbands and foil and to make streaks we use a toothbrush. All of the pictures are at least two weeks or more after coloring. The only thing that seems to make the color fade fast is swimming. Other than that it has always been perfect.

Kim-
Hair Dye used- Special Effects Deep Purple and Special Effects Atomic Pink & Deep Purple

First is very bleached hair, and strips of deep purple.
Second was All Atomic Pink and at the crown added a little deep purple and it is all over very bleached hair.
Atomic pink lasts forever, just don’t wash your hair as much.

Alyssa-
Hair Dye used- Special Effects Cherry Bomb

Okay so i used CherryBomb from Special Effects, this was the first time i ever bleached my hair or dyed it for that matter so i was really scared. I spent alot of time reading hair dye reviews especially on this website and Special Effects seemed to be a favorite! So i thought i would give it a try.I bleached my hair to a blonde orange color and then used the Special Effects Cherry Bomb. I was so shocked by the result it came out so much brighter that i thought. I LOVE IT! It was like a bright neon red. The pictures were taken the following week. The one with my boyfriend is the most accurate, like the way it came out. I have had it in for about three weeks so far and the fading is minimal, i use Garnier fructis color sheild shampoo and conditionor to hopefully make it last longer. I would definitely recommend Special Effects for anyone new to the bright hair color world. I can't wait to try a new color when my hair fades more. Oh yeah and it glows under blacklight!! So awsome for raves!!

Krystle-
Hair Dye used- Special Effects Cupcake Pink

First i used bleach and processed for about an hour to achieve a light blonde color. Then i just applied an entire bottle of Special Effects Cupcake Pink hair dye to my whole head in layers to make sure that it was saturated, then covered in a shower cap and allowed it to process for 45 minutes, rinsed and tah dah! Dark brown before i just dyed it today.

Sarah-
Hair Dye used- Special Effects Fishbowl(lighter blue) and Special Effects Wildflower

The pics are of Special Effects Fishbowl and Wild Flower over bleached hair.
The pictures were taken the day of or day after dying. The colors stayed lovely and bright for weeks!

Victoria-
Hair Dye used: Special Effects Virgin Rose and Deep Purple

I used Special Effects. I used Virgin Rose on the top and Deep Purple on the bottom.
My hair is naturally brown but I bleached highlights in the summer.
The first picture was taken just days after and the second was about a month after.

Jenna and Allyson-
Hair Dye used first photo:
Jenna- Rainbow: Special Effects Napalm Orange, Virgin Rose, Electric Blue, Deep Purple
Allyson- Special Effects Napalm Orange and bleached blonde.

Second photo:
Jenna- Special Effects Atomic Pink and black

What brand of hair dye did you use? Special Effects!! I love it and have the best results with it. I recommend it (and funkyshop) to everyone who asks about my hair, which in Fairbanks Alaska is alot of people. I'm easy to spot!
My rainbow hair is done with Napalm Orange, Virgin Rose, Electric Blue and Deep Purple, in a fade, applied all at once in a back to front application. Daughter Allyson's hair is Napalm and Bleach Blonde.
The other picture of me is Atomic Pink and Black.
What color was your hair before you started? Medium Brown for both of us, we bleach it out prior.
This is an ongoing process, it changes every 6-8 weeks. The rainbow hair photo was about a month after I had dyed it, the atomic pink photo was about 3 weeks after I had dyed it. (I'm dying my hair purple/blue/black even as I am typing this.

Ananda-
Hair Dye used: Punky Color Blue Lagoon

I used Punky Color Blue Lagoon. I love Punky Color! It lasts so much longer and every color smells like blueberrys! Even red! I have been dying my hair since I was 1.I bleach my dark brown hair blond, apply the majority of a pot of Punky Color, rinse, and whala! The First Blue was done on the night before Halloween while the second blue was about a month or two later.

More Ananda-
Hair Dye used- Special Effects Nuclear Red

The second two red ones are about a month after the red was initially done.

Maddy-
Hair Dye used: Special Effects Fishbowl

I absolutely love Special Effects' Fishbowl Blue. Since I have dyed dark brown hair, I took your 40 Bleach kit and bleached a chunk of hair on one side. After applying the fishbowl, by parting it differently I was able to get a really cool hi-lighted effect on the normally plain side. It looks awesome in my hair, lasted for about two months (this photo was taken about 5 weeks after dying), and I got several compliments on it. Despite suggestions to keep my hair natural (I'm a model, and unnaturally colored hair often doesn't go over well), I've found that the biggest compliments I get come from makeup artists and photographers that I work with! I'd definitely recommend any Special Effects dye, but Fishbowl is now a favorite on my list. Thanks again!

Kelsey-
Hair Dye used: Special Effects Atomic Pink

Picture taken: Two weeks after coloring
Bleached: Using 40 volume bleach
Original hair color: Dark blonde
The orange/yellow dreads in the back are fake hair pieces and were not dyed with anything. But the pink in the front is all Special Effects!
It works great. Especially if you can go for long periods of time without washing your hair.

Misty Cat-
Hair Dye used: Special Effects Blue Mayhem

I used S.E Blue Mayhem on light yellow bleached hair. The picture is
on the day of dying; that's the best picture i got of it before it
faded. The blue faded a LOT faster than the pink, but it still hung
around for quite a while.

M&M-
Hair Dye used- Special Effects Iguana Green

SFX Iguana Green on bleached hair
Natural Hair Color: Medium Brown
I dyed the front part black, bleached the back part, then dye over the bleach to make it green. It was originally a much darker green, but has faded after one wash
~3wks after dyeing

Sam-
Hair Dye used: Special Effects Cherry Bomb

i used special effects cherry bomb hair dye over bleached hair. it lasted about 1 week as bright red (see picture 1) before it faded into hot pink for about 4 more weeks (see second picture).

Jo-
Hair Dye used: Special Effects Nuclear Red, Blood Red

Hi, my name is Jo. I've been coloring my hair off and on for the last 15 years! As of the last three years, I use Special Effects brand exclusively. It has the brightest colors and they last the longest! I used a 20 vol. bleach to lighten the highlights and went from black to golden yellow, then used Special Effects hair dye. I color my hair every 6 weeks, sometimes longer since the color holds so well. In the first pic, I had colored it using Special Effects Nuclear Red, and then attached red dread falls that matched perfectly! In the second pic it had been about 2 weeks or so since I colored it Blood Red.

Rebecca-
Hair dye used: Special Effects Nuclear Red, Napalm Orange in two pics. Then Rebecca's Tequila Sunrise- Nuclear Red, Atomic Pink, and bleach.

Rebecca and Molly-
These are combinations of Nuclear Red, Atomic Pink, Napalm Orange, Wildflower and Burgundy Wine.

\
My sister and I have been dying our hair with Special Effects hair dye for about three years now. We always bleach it out before putting the bright colors on, and have developed some techniques to make it last. I never have to re-dye because the color fades, only because my roots grow out!!
-We always use Special Effects... it is by far the best bright hair dye on the market!!
-Yes it is necessary to bleach our hair out before dying it, but we only bleach out the natural color, once the dye is in it stays. We do, however, put new color on top of the old dye job, it really mixes up the color and creates some cool shades! Keep in mind that the colors do change between a fresh dye and after a few washes.. so account for it when you decide what colors to use. I find that mixing the pinks, oranges and reds doesn't show up much in the beginning, but as the color fades they really come out!
-None of these pictures were taken immediately after dying, they all have at least a few weeks on them.
-Rebecca & Molly

Hair Dye used: Special Effects Atomic Pink

I used Special Effects Atomic Pink hair dye. I bleached my fringe to a really light blonde before dying.
The first picture was about 2 days after applying it (June).
The second one was taken in October. It hardly faded at all in the first month!

Trish-
Hair Dye used: Special Effects Nuclear Red and Candy Apple Red, Cupcake Pink

I used half a bottle of Special Effects Nuclear Red mixed with a half bottle Candy Apple Red.
My hair is medium to dark brown with a hint of natural red.
I bleached some chunks in it, and they didn't turn out well, so I applied the 1/2 and 1/2 mixture to my whole head, even the dark natural color portion.
I put the bleach chunks in it a week ago, and just did the SE red mixture today. So the new red color, was just a couple hours ago.

Here's Trish again, this time with Special Effects Cupcake Pink streaks!

Meagan-
Hair Dye Used-
Pic 1-Special Effects Blue Velvet
Pic 2- Manic Panic Hot Hot Pink
Pic 3-Manic Panic Pillar Box Red or Wildfire

Every time I use a different colour, I bleach out that section of hair to get rid of the last colour. In the picture on the left, I used Special Effects - Blue Velvet. This was my first application after bleaching my hair. It tends to get darker after ever application. The blue doesn't start to fade for at least six to eight weeks.
In the picture in the center, I used Manic Panic - Hot Hot Pink. This picture was taken after several applications. The pink lasted about two to three weeks, if I was lucky.
In the picture on the right, I used Manic Panic - either Pillar Box Red or Wildfire. I used a jar of both around the same time period but they turned out to be basically the same colour. The only difference is that Wildfire glows under black light. This picture was taken after several applications of the red. Either red lasted about two weeks, but after, would fade to an ugly orange colour.

Hair Dye used- Special Effects Atomic Pink and Blue Mayhem

I took this picture two days after dying. Before I had my hair bleached to a white blonde. I used Atomic Pink on top and Blue Mayhem on the bottom, both by Special Effects. I let the color sit for an hour and blow dried it for the first 20 minutes or so and it came out AMAZINGLY bright. I couldn't believe it.
-Ashley

Kate-
Hair Dye used- Special Effects Cherry Bomb and Pimpin Purple

Hey! My name is Kate and I recently ordered some Special Effects hair dye from you guys. I've had so much trouble in the past with keeping colors in my hair, even when it was done professionally, so I figured I would only try one last time before going to something boring like brown. The reason I used special effects was because of its reviews, so I am glad to help other hair color connoisseurs in any way i can.
To do my hair I dyed it black then waited a week or so and bleached out what I wanted to dye. I used Cherry Bomb and Pimpin Purple and mixed the two in most places but the bottom is mostly pimpin purple, and my bangs have a lot of cherry bomb in it. I LOVED the results! The pictures don't do it justice really because the lighting is bad, but it's very vibrant, and very pretty. Most dyes i've used only last a week, if that. The first two pictures are my hair after 1 week. The next pictures are after 2 weeks. My hair hasn't faded a bit! It's still gorgeous and vibrant. I get compliments on it every day. On a side note, not only is it good color, but it's good for my hair. It didn't fry it or damage it in any way which is a major plus.

-Beka
Hair Dye used- Special Effects Fishbowl and Atomic Pink

This is my hair with Fishbowl all over the top and Atomic Pink on the bottom. Both were Special Effects. Before I dyed my hair, it was all bleached blonde, with a really light faded out pinktint in some places. The picture was taken a week after i dyed it.

Here are some pictures of two different times I dyed my hair using Special Effects Blue Velvet. The pictures are taken the day of or day after dying. The color lasted a couple months without fading too much. Two of the pics show a smidge of black dye I used on my bangs. I bleached my hair to a very light blonde before dying each time.

China-
Hair Dye used- Special Effects Nuclear Red, Yellow, and Napalm Orange

"All 3 pictures were taken the week of dying my hair, and they stayed vibrant like that for about 2 weeks give or take a shampoo. In the first picture i started out with mostly natural red hair, then did low lights with black, and bleached highlights around that so i had my natural color, black and blonde all together. then i put the nuclear red on it and all the various shades of hair acted accordingly.

Second pic is after my hair had grown out a bit, i kept dying it with the Nuclear Red, then i bleached my roots and put bright yellow on it and blended it into the red, which gave me that lovely orange color in between.

Abigail-
Hair Dye used- Punky Color Blue Lagoon(on the left) with her friend Lucy

I used Punky Blue Lagoon and the darker hair is just faded black. My hair was originally an orangish blonde colour, so I had to dye it twice to keep in from going really green. In the picture it was just a couple days since I had dyed it.

Melon Berry-

My name's Amy. My hair is naturally black and very resistant, so I had to bleach it three times with 30 vol. bleach. I then used Special Effects Deep Purple all over. The colour's about a week old in the picture.

Jessi-
Hair Dye used- Special Effects Atomic Pink

These are some pics taken the day after I died my hair with Special Effects atomic pink. My hair is naturally dark brown. I had bleached my hair until it was light blonde except the hair that was close to my scalp which was a golden blonde before using the atomic pink. It lasted over a month before any loss of the color. I loved it, my hair was a real eye catcher and my kids could always find me in a crowd. -Jessi-

-Natasha Elise
Hair Dye used-Special Effects Atomic Pink

This picture was taken after bleaching my mousy brown hair and dyeing with Special Effects Atomic Pink. Years later, I am still using this dye. For a less conspicuous look, my hair is now dark brown with atomic pink highlights. I retouch every 4 - 6 weeks. And yes, at the end of that time frame the my is still pink. And yes I do shampoo regularly!

Athena-
Hair Dye used- Special Effects Atomic Pink

Hey, this is a picture of my 8 year old daughter Athena. We first had her hair bleached at a salon then I brought her home and applied the Special Effects Atomic Pink, it's a little light because we ran out. She absolutely loves this color, we had the hardest time finding it after the local store stopped carrying it. She didn't want any other pink, we're glad we found it.

Bekki
Hair Dye used-Special Effects Cupcake Pink and Fishbowl

My name is Bekki and I have been dying my hair for over 6 years using a variety of things from bingo dabber, to food color, to hair dye. My favorite hair dye is definitly Special Effects. My hair in the picture was bleached to get the colors to stick better. The pink is Cupcake pink by Special Effects and the green is fishbowl green by special effects. That is a fresh dye job, only hours old. I was running low on fishbowl which is why it isn't as vibrant. My natural hair color is a dark brown.

Margo
Hair Dye used- Special Effects Pimpin Purple, Fishbowl, and Blue Mayhem

Hi, my name is Margo . I've been dyeing my hair for about 13 years. I bleached my hair beforehand so the dye would be bright. I used three colors of Special Effects: the front section is Pimpin Purple, the stripe in the middle is Fish Bowl Blue, the back is Blue Mayhem. Some of the Fishbowl was layered on top of the Pimpin Purple which is why there is dark blue around the stripe. This was taken a day after I'd dyed it.

Jenn-
Hair Dye used- Manic Panic Ultra Violet

Hi, I'm Jenn~ I have naturally black hair (I'm Chinese) and used Manic Panic Ultra Violet for the purple and some generic brand pink, I think it's called Beyond the Zone? It's pretty bad, the lady at the salon said it started washing out even as she was doing the first rinse. The Manic Panic stays for a while though, like a couple of weeks. I had my hair bleached professionally at the salon and it ended up a yellow blonde, with some parts a little darker than others.

Maddie ~
Hair Dye used- Manic Panic bleach kit.

Maddie ~ I bleached stripes wiith Manic Panic 40 vol. bleach.
This is a couple days after I did it. Second pic is six months later.

In case you want to make horizontal stripes like this, I'll explain how I did it;1. put up hair that you do not plan on dying 2. hold hair being dyed as together as possible and put masking tape over each part you do not want dyed.[[make sure the part you are dying falls together when it is down]] 3. Dye or bleach each part that is not taped, making sure you get all of the hair, not just the outside of the section 4. After it dries, wash hair with water or, if you bleached, with shampoo.5. Take out the tape. You should now have stripes. If you want them darker or more defined with where they start and end, just take a tinting brush and go over them with your chosen color or bleach, then rinse[[as usual]] after it dries. When I dyed them,I did this a few times so that you could see the stripes better.
